UN Commission on the Status of Women
COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN (CSW)
CSW is a yearly two-week session at the United Nations in New York, early March. 2025 marked the 30th year since the World Conference of Women in Beijing which was attended by several Grail members. Since then, the Grail is not only involved in attending official proceedings, we sponsor parallel events. Each year there is a girls’ panel for and by girls. The second parallel event is co-sponsored with UFER. This panel is composed of young women and Grail members who share how their social action is influenced by their spiritual journey.
The Grail has special consultative status at the UN. The Grail also is a member of UFER-Unis pour l’Equite et la Fin du Racisme/ UFER-United for Equity and the End of Racism. Because of this, we can obtain more than the usual 20 passes to attend CSW.
The sponsors two parallel events every year. One event is for and by girls, the other is with young women and Grail members entitled: Sacred Activism. The Grail invites girls and young women from various Grail countries /projects to become official Grail delegates. The Grail also makes a special effort to involve girls (18 and below) from various USA schools because ‘we believe GIRLS’ VOICES need to be heard’. Anyone can attend the parallel events. UN passes are needed to attend the official sessions and side events at UN Headquarters. Interested persons can contact the Grail CSW Team at thegrail.glunn@gmail.com.
The 70th Commission on Status of Women (CSW70) will take place in New York City
at United Nations Headquarters March 9-20, 2026
The priority theme is:
“Ensuring and strengthening access to justice for all girls and women, including by promoting inclusive and equitable legal systems, eliminating discriminatory laws, policies, and practices, and addressing structural barriers.”
